Keynote is Apple’s own presentation application, similar to Microsoft’s PowerPoint, but better (really, not just because it is Apple vs. Microsoft). With Keynote you can create breathtaking presentations that look professional even if you are a beginner.
Once you've created or at least begun your menu slide, go back to the Master Slides. Select a symbol from the Shapes button such as a circle and when it's on your slide, resize it. Make it small and unobtrusive but also clear and easily clickable or tappable.
In the Export Your Presentation window that appears next, you can opt to require a password. Click on the Advanced Options, and you can select between and file formats. Click Next when you have finished selecting your options. IDG

When you do look at the Light Table view and cringe at how text-heavy your presentation is, you can drag images, audio and video into it.

Version:6.5 In principle, one can also do such manipulations in an automated way. That's particluarly useful if you are copying lots of formulas from a paper but want all of them to appear with the same colored background. The key is that all your copied equations are actually stored in the file that's created when you save the Keynote presentation. For more details, see my remarks on how to change the background color on the LaTeX page. Keynote does not keep animations in the PDF it exports (although this is technically possible). So only Powerpoint remains. But if you've ever tried to transfer a presentation from Mac Powerpoint to PC Powerpoint, you know you can't trust the results unless you double-check every slide on a PC. Now add the extra step of starting from Keynote instead of Mac Powerpoint, and it's clear that there's reason to be worried. Search for "Keynote" in the Mac App Store, and where it usually says "Download," it should say "Update." See if it will update that way. If not, then your best bet is to delete Keynote and re-download it. There is also the fact that PowerPoint slides somehow always look like they're PowerPoint slides. Keynote does seem different because fewer people use it. If that's you, if you're turning to Keynote to just be a little distinctive, you're in good company. Steve Jobs did exactly the same thing.
